The promotion recognises Luke’s progress and high standard of work across fieldwork, technical reporting and project delivery.
In his new role, Luke will continue to supervise medium to large scale ground investigations and develop his technical skills while also taking on additional project management responsibilities. He will also produce technical documents such as ground-gas risk assessments, foundation zoning plans, and remediation and earthworks strategies.
Luke, a graduate of University of Manchester and Fellow of the Geological Society (FGS), said: “I’ve learnt a lot and picked up valuable experience over the past eighteen months. The team has trusted me with meaningful project work from an early stage and truly supported me in developing my technical and project-management skills.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to support our clients with more complex projects in this new role and learn from the experienced people around me.”

Luke’s promotion follows three senior internal appointments made by IGE in July, when Angharad Jones became Associate Director, Alfie Leach was promoted to Principal Geotechnical Engineer and James Harley became Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer.
Founded in 2017, IGE specialises in helping partners across the UK navigate the full lifecycle of development and regeneration projects, from early-stage land due diligence, viability and planning through to construction and delivery. The team advise businesses in a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, leisure, retail, education and health.
IGE employs 14 staff at its offices in central Manchester. Its clients include Breck Homes, Persimmon, Bellway, Anwyl Homes, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Manchester City Council.
